All Tuckered Out!

Today was Madison's first day at daycare. Needless to say, Mommy had a VERY hard time with that today. I did well until I left the building then I broke down and cried. Madison however, did really good. When I got there the daycare worker took Madison from me and sat her on the floor in front of a big pail of toys. Madison proceeded to reach out and grab some toys and start playing. The other kids in the room are crawlers and Madison didn't really know what to think about all of that. She was giving the other babies a "what are you doing?" look the entire time. It was hilarious!
When I picked her up this afternoon the daycare said that she was a little fussy today, but that was to be expected because of the new environment. She had a huge smile on her face when she saw me at the door though, so that made Mommy feel MUCH better!
We all went on a walk tonight, which has become our nightly routine, and Madison fell asleep on the way back to the house at 6:45. She had a long day and it tuckered her out good!!

Our First House

On August 13th Chris and I closed on our first house. We are VERY excited about being first time homeowners. We haven't moved completely into the house yet as we are doing some painting and improvements in the house first. We started with Madison's room which we painted pink of course! We added new white trim in the room, white closet doors and a white door to her room. It really looks great! Grandpa Schnackenberg came down to help with the renovations which was a HUGE help. Grandma Schnackenberg got the privlege of taking care of Madison while the men were working :) I don't think she minded that too much! Starting tomorrow we are moving the rest of our things over to the house and hopefully we will be completely in by this weekend. Lots of work to do but it's fun and exciting!! I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get time :)

Playtime

Madison loves to be on the floor playing. She especially loves playing with her blocks and it's even more fun when she's naked :)

Green beans....Yummy ?!?!?!?!

Madison just recently entered the world of solid food. We started with rice cereal which she really didn't mind. Then a week or so after that we started with green beans for dinner. She didn't seem to mind them at first, but after about the 3rd or 4th bite we started getting the faces. She kept opening her mouth for them so it couldn't have been that bad. After the green beans we moved onto adding bananas to her cereal in the mornings and that is a HUGE hit. She can't get enough of those! It's early, but it looks like she's going to be a pretty good little eater!

Madison had her 6 month check up and shots at the Dr this week and she did really good. She screamed like crazy while she was getting her shots, but immediately after that, I picked her up and she quieted right down. She is now 15 lbs 8 oz and 25 1/2 inches long. She is in the 40th percentile on both height and weight. She is in the 70% percentile for head circumference, but that's just because she has a huge brain!! He said she was doing good and that he could feel some bottom teeth down there and they would hopefully show themselves in the next month. All in all, she's growing like a little weed and we're enjoying every minute of it!!

6 months old!!

Madison is 6 months old today!! I can't believe my little baby is a half of a year already!! Where has the time gone. I still remember like it was yesterday seeing her for the first time and thinking how beautiful she was. That hasn't changed a bit! I think she is just a beautiful little angel.
She is trying very very hard to sit up on her own and almost has that tackled. She scoots around on her tummy but still doesn't have it all together to crawl. I'm sure that will happen before we know it and then watch out! She still doesn't have any teeth, but I have to believe they're not far away. Of course I've been saying that since she was four months old! She's still not sleeping the whole night through, but hopefully that is around the corner as well. She usually goes to bed around 8pm and wakes up wanting to eat around 4am, then she's good until around 6:30. It's really not a bad schedule, I would just welcome the uninterrupted sleep!
I'll try to be better about blogging more often, I obviously haven't been the greatest at that lately, but I promise I'll try!

Splish Splash

Madison has loved taking baths since she came home from the hospital and it hasn't changed yet. She loves sitting in the bathtub and sucking on her rubber ducky and splashing her feet around. I have never had her cry while in the bath. Anymore she hangs on to the sides of her bathtub when I start to take her out of it, which makes it very difficult to get the slippery baby out. I'm glad she loves her bath and hopefully this will turn into a love of being in the water in general!
