Big Girl!

Madison has been doing great lately! She has really started to talk and coo a lot more lately. When she's in the living room, there is a certain spot on the wall that she seems to think is extremely funny. She'll just stare at the wall and laugh and coo like crazy. Maybe it's her imaginary friend or something, but it's cute. She hardly ever cries during the day except when those darn gas pains hit, but other than that you couldn't ask for a better baby. She is starting to get a routine down during the day. She eats around 7:30 in the morning, plays for about an hour and then naps again until around 10. Then it's the eat, play and nap routine again. She stays awake more during the later part of the afternoon. At night she usually only wakes up once around 2 or 3 so that's been nice. It really is a joy watching our little one grow up...although it's way to fast.
I have to go back to work tomorrow. I'm looking forward to being back around the people I work with and the patients, however, I'm dreading leaving my little girl. I've already had several cries just thinking about it. I know there will be many tears shed tomorrow and maybe even a few phone calls home. Grandma Schnackenberg is watching Madison for the first week, then Grandpa Davis will be here the second week, so Madison will certainly not hurt for attention.
Here are some pictures from this past week.

I Love My Dragon!!

Madison has just started smiling and "talking" to her toys, especially her crinkly dragon. She loves watching it and listening to the different noises it makes. She also loves giving the dragon kisses which you can see in the video. Of course we couldn't catch the really cute stuff on camera because she always does that stuff when the camera's off.

Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma!!

This past weekend Madison and I went to Cole Camp to surprise Grandma Schnackenberg for her birthday. Chris had to stay in Rolla because of a massive amount of studying. So, Maddie and I made the trip to Cole Camp Saturday morning. Before we went to Grandma and Grandpa Schnackenberg's house, we stopped and stayed a while at Grandma and Grandpa Davis's house. Madison was very happy to see them and she had a great time giving them hugs and smiles. After that it was on to celebrate Grandma Schnackenberg's birthday. We got her a cake and took pictures and then we (Dale, Garret, Madison, Grandpa and I) took her out to eat that evening. Madison was a great little girl at the restaurant and even had to "try" a little bit of Lemon Meringue pie filling....she liked it :) We then ventured home yesterday afternoon. Madison slept the entire way home. We had a great weekend and hope that Grandma did as well.

2 Month Dr. Visit

Madison had her 2 month check up at the Pediatrician yesterday and she is growing like a little weed! She weighed in at 11 lbs 3 oz and she is 22 inches long. Her weight is in the 50th percentile and her height is in the 25th percentile. So, I would say that she is growing very well. He said that she looked very healthy other than having a virus. He said that her throat and nasal passages were very red. This explains why over the past 5-6 days she's been very fussy, not eating or sleeping well. Hopefully the virus is on it's way out and I'll have my happy baby back. After all of this news, the shots came. I think it hurt Mom worse than it did Madison, however it didn't look like she enjoyed it much either. The first shot went in and she screamed and cried and held her breath until her face turned bright red and then almost blue. Then the next one came and the tears started flowing on her little face and then Mom lost it. I don't ever want to experience that again!! Hopefully next time Daddy can come with us.

My First Easter Weekend

Madison had her first Easter this weekend. She had a busy weekend with Uncle Dale, Aunt Michelle, cousins Thomas and Garret and Grandma and Grandpa Schnackenberg. She also had a visit from Wanda next door. For the MOST part she was pretty good. She was very smiley with everyone, especially with Uncle Dale. They had quite the conversation on several occasions. We didn't get a very good picture of her in her Easter dress/outfit because when it was time for pictures, Madison wanted nothing to do with it and was extremely fussy. So, hopefully we'll get another picture of that and post it soon. She was adorable however!
We go to her 2 month Dr visit later this morning where she'll get her first round of shots. Mom is NOT looking forward to that at all!!! I'll let you know how that goes!!
We hope everyone had a great Easter!!

The Newest Cardinal Fan

Madison brought in Opening Day of the Cardinals season with a brand new hat! Her Daddy and I thought she needed her own Cardinals hat to wear for the season. It is a little big, however hopefully it will fit her before the season is over. She sat on Daddy's lap yesterday and watched the game. It didn't exactly turn out how we had hoped, but hopefully today will be a different story! Isn't she adorable in her new Cardinal apparel?

Visit With the KC Crew

This weekend we took a little trip to Kansas City. Chris had a conference to attend for school all day Saturday so we decided to stay at the Schnackenberg's house for the weekend and let Madison spend some time with her relatives. Madison had a great time with Uncle Dale, Aunt Michelle and cousins Thomas and Garret. We couldn't have asked for a better baby the entire weekend. She would just lay on the floor and smile and play with her cousins. Thomas and Garret read her books and played with her rattles with her. She loved every minute of it. She also had to help Uncle Dale grill chicken on Friday night. Aunt Michelle worked her motherly miracles on Madison when she got fussy with her gas pains. Michelle held her and got several burps out of her and then she was good to go. Of course, I never caught any smiles on camera, go figure. She really is starting to smile and laugh a lot more. It absolutely melts your heart when she looks at you and gives you that big grin!!
